Back to blogging

Well, it has been awhile since we put forth a new blog entry.  Sometime we get so caught up with servicing clients' needs we neglect the other parts of the business.

We are dedicating ourselves to turning over a new leaf and getting back to the educational aspect of the practice of law.  With the ever-changing legal environment and the ever-evolving world of social media, the opportunity to share information has never been easier nor more important.

It has always been a convenient excuse for us that our typical client doesn't spend a great deal of time surfing the web, but that is changing as well.

As an attorney, I view myself as being in the "information" business.  I have always viewed my most dangerous competition, not as the attorney down the road but, as the guy sitting on the next bar stool.  Unverified and unreliable information is not only annoying but it can be dangerous.  In this day and age though, the bar stool is quickly being replaced by the "guy" on the internet.  Anyone can write on a message board or comment in an online forum and sound like they know what they're talking about.

Seeking a recipe for beef stew on the internet can yield a wealth of equally tasty options.  Seeking legal advice on the internet can result in an unrecoverable disaster.

The consumer of information MUST verify the source of the information. In adapting to this new reality, we at Mac Law will be turning to the very tool that has us so concerned...social media.  We cannot turn back the clock on the internet but we can do our little part to make it more reliable.

We will launch a MacDonald Law Office LLC Facebook page to more efficiently communicate issues to the public.  We may even utilize Twitter and/or Instagram but first we have to figure out what those things are...baby steps.
